MHC YOUTH MINISTRY
As a youth ministry, we are committed to glorifying and enjoying God as our main purpose in life. We aspire to reach this goal with a smile on our face and laughter in our voice. I think that it is crucially important that the youth understand that there is more than one way to enjoy and glorify God. You may ask yourself how playing “blob”, going bowling, “mafia”, and singing songs off key can be glorifying to God. If you ask any of the youth or join us one night, I think you will understand. Our weekly meetings are not centered around any “straight laced” format. We just try and have fun together. We play games and are building relationships with each other. Along with knowing each other better, we are learning to grow and deepen our relationship with our Father in Heaven. Our setting is very relaxed. We have discussions each week about a passage of Scripture in which we look at how God has revealed Himself to us. Most importantly, we talk about the work of Christ and what He has done for us. It is our discussions and conversations that makes our time so enjoyable. The youth are at such a critical stage in life that they need to understand what it means to enter into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. What does it mean that He died for me, on my behalf? If God knows that I’m a sinner and I can’t always do the right thing, what hope do I have? I thought I was just supposed to act right and be a good moral person? These are just some of the questions that we address when we talk about the work of Christ and what it means as someone in middle school or high school.
